(Thanks to Each.)
I told Each last week that I was looking for something to hold all of my earrings, because it was sort of difficult to find a specific pair of earrings quickly when my jewelry box looked like this:
She described to me over gChat how her sister had made one out of cork board, fabric and some ribbon. We then declared "Michelle & Each Get Crafty" weekend: we would both tackle the project and post the end results today to share with all of you. We're nice like that.
Brown & teal to match my bedroom of course:
A close-up:
The beginnings of my next crafty project (finished product to be revealed next week if all goes well):
But don't worry, I'm not turning into an old woman - I had some fun this weekend too! Here's proof:

That is so clever! I'm going to see if Each has any solutions for necklaces..... :)
Very nice Michelle! Looks like a perfect solution. Love the colours too!
Cuuute! I did something like that with my earrings, but I was lazy and attached some ribbon to a wire cooling rack and hung it on my wall, haha.
I love the earring idea, I've got to do something about my growing accesorries problem!
And nothing wrong with knitting. I do it all winter long. If I had a rocking chair, I might fear for myself a little :)
Very crafty - looks like something in a storefront!
I wear the same earrings all the time because I get lazy digging around my jewelry box.
that is really pretty! now what did you do with your necklaces?
and welcome to twitter :)
Wow you are crafty! I need one of those earring stands, nice.
Wow... you gots lots of earrings. Love it :) And if you come up with any great knitting ideas, lemme know. I've been dying to get started again.
being with clancy is not proof of fun.
very funny my dear. but we were at a PARTY ;)
and that is definitely proof of fun!
Crafty AND practical. That's the best! And such a cute photo at the end!
Every since they opened that $2 for 3 pair earing place by my house, I've been off the chain!! I have got to copy this idea!!!
Any ideas for bracelets??
You and Clancy make a great couple.
that is so cute! i made an 8 x 10 picture frame into an earring holder a couple of years back by taking the glass out and putting in gridded wire i got from the hardware store. it's been fantastic!! but i love yours!
Man, you are crafty. And you and Clancy are very cute :)
OK I am TOTALLY jealous of our earing thingy! I want one (insert whining like a 3 yr old) SO cute!
I have to do it here too...you guys are 'sew crafty' :)
Ooh, I love the colors! It turned out great :)
First, this is the first time I have been to your blog after your name has been all up in my grill on every blogroll in life.
Second, crafty bitches is possibly the best series title ever. I told Each the same thing.
Third, thank you for being so awesome as to have my favourite Billy Joel song posted.
The end.
I love your earring holder ... for the craftiness AND for reminding me of my favorite colors I covered up in my condo. Yes, I used to have chocolate brown walls with a blue accent wall ... but, had to "neutralize" it to put it up for sale. So sad!
I love being crafty. I have a similar idea for my earrings but it involves mesh from a screen. I'll have to post photos when I'm done. :)
I LOVE the yarn for the unnamed project that I know the name of. If you need help with the finishings let me know. We can get together this week and work it out.
What a nifty idea! I'm totally stealing it! And that's a cute picture :-)
This post doesn't make we want to get crafty. It makes me want to go shopping.
this. is. genius!
i am so martha-ing it up at my next chance.
SO. CUTE.
I am totally going to do this!
And you and the boy? Awwwwwh.
Wow! Aren't you crafty. Watch out Martha Stewart. What a great idea!
That is really cool! Love it!
wow! our blogs are very similar! what city are you from? i'm from boston. i'll be visiting again soon!
ha! I love it
well that is quite crafty (pun completely intended)
also, great earring choices, totally cute!
The earring holder is SUCH a cute idea! I'm definitely going to have to make one of my own! Thanks!
so cute - and how very michelle to be so anal about lining them up on your board :) love you!
VERY cute!!!
I love the earring holder! So. Cute.
Gasp! Adorable! I love it! Want one!
Nice work! : )
oh that is so cute! very nice.
You are crafty indeed! I'm impressed. :)
Cute. I'll have to try that.
I need one. I use a silly little saucer that is a big tangled mess. But anything more than a glue stick is too complicated for me!
I LOVE the earring board! And that you have such cute taste in earrings ;)
Glad to hear the crafts still left some time for fun!
Super cute! I am definitely not crafty at all!
You look really happy in the pic! :)
that's really cute!!
(both the earring board AND the smiley pic!)
how cute is that!
I wish I was crafty. I might try that out, you clever b-itch. :)
how nifty! i wish i was creative and crafty like that!
oh yeah, and you guys are adorable!
You may be crafty, but you ain't no bitch!
That sounds like the name of a country music song. Nashville, here I come!
OMG I need one of those!!!
OMG, I love your crafty earing holder. BTW, I wore all of those earrings like 20 years ago, hee hee ... love the 80's.
That's an adorable earring holder! I may have to make one myself--it's so handy!
Also--I knit as well, so don't feel too old. :)
That is such a cool idea for the earrings. It turned out very nice.
The yarn you are using is a lot like the yarn I am currently using to make a baby afghan. :o)
