Valentine's Day - In Pictures

We decided to DIY this year:
Candlelight steak dinner prepared by him.
Baked mac and cheese side dish prepared by me.
Homemade chocolate covered strawberries prepared by him - SO IMPRESSED!
Some of his favorite cookies prepared by me.

And a few other special surprises for each other.

In one word: wonderful.

The chocolate covered strawberries are quite impressive. Were they a request from you or did he just surprise you with them? Because if they were a surprise, I'm double-impressed. :)

It sounds wonderful!

HE made those strawberries?!? Speechless.

Mac & cheese side dish made me laugh, because hubby and I have an ongoing debate about whether macaroni and cheese can be considered a meal, or if is (as he claims) only a side dish.

DIY anything is definitely more thoughtful :)

Dude. He's got me on the strawberries. VERY nice.

I heart you, and yet I hate you. But mostly heart.

I must confess, I thought it might be Clancy way before your post revealed it, and I was a tad disappointed. I want you to be happy, but how can a man so apparently willing to devastate you and break your heart ever truly make you happy? I hope he proves me wrong. But I was kinda hoping you'd be like the Lucy Liu character on Cashmere Mafia...hooks up with her ex (the one who dumped her and broke her heart), then the next morning gives back the engagement ring, saying, "Here. I hung onto this hoping you'd change your mind. But now I've changed mine."

Mmm.. cookies and strawberries! Your cookies look divine! Recipe?

Wow...that makes the meatloaf I made last night look rather pitiful! Okay, it was pitiful to begin with. Next year, I'll plan something with cookies, Hershey's kisses and dipped fruit :)

"Wonderful" definitely does sum this up! Chocolate-covered strawberries?! How delicious.

P.S. Baked macaroni & cheese, hm? If you ever have the time, would you mind sending me the recipe you use? I loooove baked mac & cheese (well, really, anything at all with cheese...) and I try every recipe I come across.

GIVE ME CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES OR DIE.

sorry, i've been with two year olds all day and i'm just now getting a break. chocolate would help a LOT right now.

after our facebook messaging, i gave the whole nature of "second chances" a lot of thought. and concluded i'd probably do the exact same thing you are and take it slow, because i'm a hopeless romantic and lets face it, i'd take one (well ONLY one) of my ex's back in a heartbeat, solely because of the intense connection that i suspect from reading past posts that you and c have as well.
