Sexify My Hair - Attempt #1

After all the advice from last Thursday's "Hair 911" post I decided to have some fun with my new hot rollers Saturday night (for my hott date!) and see what magic they could work. (Thanks Tia for the curler diagram - it really helped!)

The Results:

What do you think - hott or not? Perfect Myspace picture, no?

This is only my first attempt. Not as curly as I would have hoped, but definitely more volume. My next plan of attack is to get a heat curling lotion like this to help set the curls better. I also bought 12 jumbo rollers but maybe a variety of sizes would work better? Or getting another set of 12?

Attempt #2 will happen this coming weekend and a hair appointment will be scheduled for a week or two after that. I'll keep you updated!

EDIT:: After several pushy curious comments, I will post a dating update soon. Just trying not to jinx myself too much. I would never keep you guys in the dark unless it was for the best ;)

Hun, with a smile like that, and great eyes and skin, your hair is just an accent piece. You're fine.

Hot - now you can do mine. It needs to be sexified, too.

Your hair looks gorgeous. I love hair like that but mine is super curly so I would have to straighten it and then curl again....seems kind of pointless.

Lovely!

Wow... you look great!

Wow, you have awesome hair. I think it is definitely hott. I know nothing about curls, though -- my hair sounds like what you described on Thursday: superthin and superfine and cannot hold a curl for more than about 20 minutes, no matter how much product is in it.

How was the date?

Your hair looks great! I especially love the color. I would definitely get a variety of different sized curlers. Some parts of your hair might require tighter curls to avoid falling out. Love it :)

Your hair looks awesome! But, you give us the dirt about getting ready for the date and nothing about the date itself? What gives?!? :-)

I love it! You'll have to post a tutorial on how to use hot rollers. I've been dying to try it out but have no clue how to use them...

L Sass said...

I love the curls in your hair! I have thick hair, so curls always make my hair too big and fro-y. You look hott to me!

I love it!! Way cute! It is so funny the hair dilema's us girls go though. Sometimes my hair isn't curly enough, sometimes it is not straight enough :) Other times the hubs doesn't like the style. Hee hee! Oh what we do for men :)
Please hurry with the dating info!!

Volume Advice!

Use the BIG hot rollers on the top of your head, around the crown, etc. Pull your hair straight up and wind your hair down around them, tight to the scalp. Your curlers should be sticking UP off of your head, and almost kinda hurt, sort of. Spray some volume spray and a *touch* of hairspray at the root and about two inches up right before you put the curler in. Then, when you have all of the curlers in, use a light mist of aerosol extra-hold hair spray and use a cool blow dryer on low to go over your whole head. Leave them in for about a half an hour or so, while you do your makeup maybe? Under the big curlers, use littler ones for tighter curls, because they'll inevitably loosen up and will NOT remain Shirly Temple-esque:) Hope that helps! Good luck!

[cue 70's song..] sexxxyyy laayyyddaayy.....

you look smokin! :)

i've wanted to teach myself how to do the curlers...i have your problem with hair...limp/thin/straight. Though i have some wave from a 1996 perm...it usually just turns out to be frizzy. I'll have to take that website, go buy some curlers and go for the gold! You've inspired me!

looks very sexified! i always say i am going to actually grow my hair out, but then two months later i'm impatient and hating my longer hair so i cut it. i think i look better with shorter hair anyway.

Very cute! Cute necklace too!

Hey, I found this post on Whoorl's blog, here's the link:

http://whoorl.com/?p=360

Anyway, I found this awhile back and I've done this style a few times and it's super cute! It's not hard and I don't think it takes that long. Her instructions are good too! :)

lookin' good! hair looks great.

Tia said...

yay! it looks so good!

the heat activated curling spray will SO help. and i would also suggest using smaller rollers where you feel the curls droop the most, for maximum volume.

the layers will really help once you get a cut, too!

Did it just get HOT in here or what? I swear the thermostat must be set at 100 or sumthing ...

Cute! I love it! I always end up with so many curls when I do mine. I'd much rather have this soft flowy look, but I never pull it off!

I'm gonna be pushy and ask for date updates too!

PrincessPolly said...

That looks great Michelle! I'd say it's probably better that way than it would be curlier, it looks really natural!

You didn't miss anything. I have no idea when the surprise is going to happen. That is part of the frustration. I just get repeatedly reminded about it. So frustrating! Also, he told me last night that he has a few different surprises planned for different times. Basically, he likes to torture me.

Wowza yep that’s sexy all right! (In a non gay way LoL). As gross as this sounds, it often takes better if your hair is a couple of days dirty, yes I mean don’t wash it for 2 days I know that’s a no no for many and it depends on your hair type but it works for some, and another thing to remember is that it drops quite a bit so if you do it a lot tighter by the time the date arrives it should be good! Good luck and have fun Seeya hugya *G*
