I'm beginning to like Photo Fridays! This time I decided to switch it up and go with the Photo Friday contest on Flickr. It sounded like fun.
So imagine that you have just invited me over for a yummy dinner (thank you! I accept your invitation.). I excuse myself and ask to use your restroom. While I am there I get a bit curious and I start snooping. I open your medicine cabinet or under sink drawer and I am shocked to find...

I don't know if you'd necessarily be shocked or not. We're not too terribly messy. The top photo does verify however the allergy situation I've mentioned on several occasions. I am allergic to everything, I swear. I survive by taking Claritin-D daily. Benadryl's in there for good measure. And my inhaler, of course. You all think I'm a big loser now huh? Don't stop reading, k?
And our medicine cabinet isn't big enough so our stuff tends to wind up in other rooms. The second photo of my make-up conglomeration is from the spare bathroom. I definitely need a better way to organize all this stuff. Clancy always stops me when I walk down the make-up aisle at Walmart - "You couldn't possibly need anything else!". But really, I do. And maybe if I was better about the organization of my "mess" he wouldn't notice.
So, what would I be shocked to find if I peeked in your bathrooms?

What a great post and lord you really do suffer from a lot of allergies! Poor you. If you opened my bathroom cabinet you wouldn't find anything shocking.
I keep all that shocking stuff elsewhere ;)
Believe it or not, I don't have a medicine cabinet. Like literally no cabinet. We have a closet-ish thing that we keep towels and spare shampoo and stuff, but no medicine. Wait, maybe one bottle of Pepto. But otherwise, I guess I'm just really lucky (or dumb) and don't really take meds (knock on wood).
Oh my God... I am now horrified at the state of my bathroom in comparison with yours. I am going home and cleaning it TONIGHT!!
Hmmm.... a saucer full of tangled cheap earrings (I am addicted to big hoops, danglies, etc). Okay, maybe not that surprising.
Oh... maybe all the Farmer's Almanacs by the toilet. They are a family tradition.
The only thing abnormal that I have in my bathroom would be the box that says "Master Bath" It has random junk in it that I moved from TN over 9 months ago. Hot rollers, check, half tubs of face cream/wash, check, extra pack of q-tips, check, random width curling iron way too big for my hair. All this along with a smattering of other goods. What you won't find is spare towels. The bathroom is scheduled for demolition within the year, so all the towels are kept in the linen closet in the hall. But it is an all girl bathroom. Husband uses the guest bathroom as his.
You don't look so bad at all! I share a bathroom with my sister. No medicine cabinet. We basically just keep our tooth brushes and some hand soap in there, and all our toiletries (and make up- I really don't have much) in our rooms. Works pretty well! You'd be surprised to see the reading material by the toilet though- running and wedding magazines!
I would like to say no, you wouldn't be shocked if you walked in our bathroom, but you never really know. It's the cleanest place in our home though, although that's not really saying much. Haha. I sound like such a slob. It's disinfected regularly though. I'm a germophobic slob. Also, hello, allergic to everything too. Claritin's my bestest friend.
You'd be bored to tears..but if you looked in my make-up bag you'd laugh...
You would be shocked NOT to find ANY makeup. I wear powder and blush from Bare Essentials, black pencil eyeliner, and occassionally lip gloss. And all of that I keep in a little pouch in my bedroom. Except for the lip gloss, I keep all three of those in my purse. :)
As for medicine, we have a lot of allergy meds too. Plus random meds for the dog.
your medicine cabinet is so neat! nothing too shocking in ours...we're so boring. contacts, solution, various first aid things, dental floss, blah blah blah.
p.s. you've never flown before? wow..i can understand your fear. worse comes to worse you can always take a train to san francisco! i've always wanted to try sleeping in a train w/ a dining car and everything...
wow, your bathroom area is too neat. I throw everything under my sink and then spend the next morning searching through everything trying to find a bobby pin.
PS - you asked about my header.... I did it with fd flickr toys. I wish I had Photoshop! Maybe one day.
In my bathroom, you would find a ful medicine cabinet, a full cabinet under the sink and a full shelf full of hair products, face products, lotions, body sprays, toilet paper, lady things, travel sized toiletries, make up, and lots of Aveda. I don't even use half of it, but can't seem to throw it away just in case I might need it. Which is strange, because I'm really good at throwing things away.
oh i like this! you keep a neat cabinet:)
Well, since I keep all my prescriptions in the kitchen, you wouldn't see the good stuff :) I have a lot of sample sized stuff for some reason?
I keep all of my medicine in the kitchen and not in the bathroom. I love that I now have other bathrooms to store all my stuff because seriously, most bathrooms are not made to hold all of our girly girl stuff in an organized fashion!
I love this!
In mine you'd find BeneFit Maybe Baby and Ralph Lauren Style perfumes; also lots of allergy medicine here too; BC pills; Frederic Fekkai hair products, a ton of pictures and cards from my kids taped to my mirror, and also? A huge pile of laundry on the floor. Nice, I know.
i always snoop in people's medicine cabinets! and i always assume they snoop in mine so i keep mine very clean.
why do you have a+d? we used that for my daughter's diaper rash- it was the best.
I don't keep the medicines in the medicine cabinet(it won't fit in there). Instead it is stocked with dental floss, whitening strips, tooth bleach, mouthwash...all the oral care stuff...
In keeping with my organization paranoia, my bathroom's quite organised :)....and so is yours actually...
you are gettin' to be quite famous miss 19 comments! my medicine cabinet has no medicine it holds fun things like contact solution, eye makeup remover and perfume. I am odd, I know.
We don't have a medicine cabinet so instead you would see under our sink where my roommate and I each have half of the cabinet space. It's basically just two large plastic bins crammed full with our overflowing toiletries.
my medicine cabinet is currently empty. still need to organize the bathroom post move. so maybe that would be shocking, but more likely just weird.
