I Am

I am stubborn. After three days of attempting to kill a small army of ants (and using the last of my Pledge), I gave in and went to the store for ant killer tonight. Seriously, pain in my ass.

I am scatterbrained. Cleaning up my apartment is a workout in itself. Upstairs folding laundry I hear the dishwasher finish and run downstairs. I catch a glimpse of the Bachelorette and become engrossed in the show. Hearing the washer stop, run back upstairs so my clothes don't end up a wrinkled mess. I am either scatterbrained or ADD. Can't decide.

I am happy. A smile hasn't left my face in weeks. Co-workers I hardly talk to are commenting on my "glowing" persona. Happy tears welled up as I saw the picture text from a very good friend of mine saying "She said yes!" There's a skip in my step as I walk to work, I'm humming along to songs at my desk. I would say I'm normally a happy go lucky person, but this is happy on steroids. Not that I'm complaining.

I am secretive. Only a few people know what (or who?) has been contributing to my happiness. I've been wanting to share with all of you, but life has been semi-crazy lately. Let's just say, "I can sleep when I'm dead" right? Details to come.

Life's too fun
And I'm too young
And the night ain't over yet
Like I said,
I can sleep when I'm dead

That post I almost exactly why I read blogs like yours!

People ask me why I read blogs about people's lives that I've never heard about. Sometimes I say for Escape, entertainment, but now I have a new answer. Insight & Perspective. Thanks!

I loved it.

I laughed out loud for the first time all week about the "Happy On Steroids" line.

Thanks!, I love your blog.

Loves!

A happy Michelle is a happy Internet.

Do you know who first said something to the effect of, "I can sleep when I'm dead"? Ben Franklin! He's my homeboy. You have great taste in music.

Wow, I am so intrigued now!! And I'm so happy that you're happy :)

Also, I want a t-shirt that says "Ben Franklin is my homeboy".

Even though I'm not one of the few who knows the secret to your happiness, one thing is for sure ... I'm happy for you. You deserve to rebound with strength, beauty and love ... and it seems like you've got it. Hooray!

I have heard that cayenne pepper sprinkled on the area where they are coming will kill them, or maybe just deter or super-annoy them. (Is that cruel?) Don't think I've tried this one, although I have tried borax. It works with some creatures.

Really glad to hear that you're happy. And I'm excited to hear details, whenever you're ready to share. Enjoy every minute!

I am really hoping to be skipping with a secret of my own later. Oh and I definitely get distracted anytime I start cleaning. It's just so much easier to sit and watch TV rather than remember to unload the dishes.

Hope you spill the deets soon, though.

Ohh, there's a boy! If you have ADD, then so do I, because I woke up about two hours ago and should have started laundry and packing, but here I am instead, still in my pajamas and on google reader.

Sigh.

Can't wait to hear about the boy :)

I went through my school's gifted program K-12 only to discover, while studying special education in college, that the "symptoms" of children with ADD and those who are "gifted" are often quite similar. I'm pretty sure I was "misdiagnosed."

Nothin' wrong with being secretive! Just make sure you get enough sleep to enjoy what all the secret fuss is about!

Scatter fresh mint around or freshly ground pepper wherever you see the ants the most. Those seriously get rid of ants!!

I am completely scatterbrained too. Yesterday on my way to shower, I noticed my roommate was watching Lost, a spent 4 hours doing that before I even remembered that I was on my way to take a shower...

What did you think of Deanna ditching Graham? Made for some good drama! I thought she was gonna run back in and tell Chris she'd changed her mind!!!

Glad you're happy!!!

Hello! It's my first time here, but this entry made me smile and I put you on my blogroll so be sure that I'll be back.

In response to you being secretive as to the nature of your happiness: it's quite alright! I think it's better to hold such things close to your heart; it's your thing, after all. Although I'm sure dedicated readers would be thrilled to share your reason.
