Retaliation

For the broken butter dish...
For paw prints on clean counter tops...
For losing my favorite pair of earrings...
For hiding my inhaler...
For digging through my purse...
For scratching under my bed...
For ruining my rugs...
For breaking that picture frame...
For waking me up at 4 in the morning...
For dragging yarn around the apartment...
For rifling through garbage...

Let the squirting begin!

Best training tool ever. And pretty fun when Honeycat's after my favorite chair or doing the "meow & pace" at 4 am when she decides it's time for breakfast. No bedside or coffee table drawer should be without one. And how much do you HATE it when they lose an earring?!

Bad kitty kitty kitty. Bad! Reminds me of the time I was walking down the street with a girlfriend. Italian ice in hand. And a group of kids in a minivan slowing drive by. Swing open the door. And pelt us with a Super Soaker. It. Was. Hilarious!

hahahah this is great -- keep us posted on how well it works!

Your cat is so cute! But believe me I undertsand your pain. My cat scratches the paint off my wall and destroyed all my blinds. Most recently he was turning the gas stove on by accident, I can't keep the knobs on there anymore. Ugh.

Tee!! My dad has a spray bottle for the dog for the same reason. He (the dog) has learned to be paralyzed with fear whenever anyone so much as reaches for the spray bottle!

ha. :) my kitty knocked over a giant plant in our bedroom sunday morning. that woke us up!

Lol, but she's such a cutie!

Dude. The water gun is an EXCELLENT strategy. I predict you will see great success with this new method. And the target on kitteh's back? Crack me up. Have a great day, love! xoxo

This is working so well. We have two little buggers and we got little squirting guns that fit into the palm of your hand.

We've gotten them to the point that they will stop dead in their tracks if you just point the little things at them...such well behaved cats LOL

hahhaha! kitteh be pelted with waterz!

um, wow. i need to go back to bed. or something.

xo.

OMG the cats totally fear my watergun. Though it hasn't curbed their behavior yet, it is fun to watch them fly 18 feet into the air :)

First of all- your cat totally looks like my cat Donovan...it's sort of scary. Secondly- I do that to him too. Lol. It's a great training tool :-)and really funny to watch him freak.

I hope there are some action shots forthcoming!

I am thinking little kitty may not like this game.. :)

Haha! I love the target on the little kitteh.

I used to spray my cat Raquel to keep her from getting on my coffee table. She is so damn BAD. She LOVES to sit in my laundry basket, on top of freshly folded clothes.

It sounds like someone deserves it!

I need to get me some squirt guns!

That cat's a bad motha.

He's so cute! *squeals* I want him.

But water guns. Yes. I keep telling my parents they need to get a water gun to train their cats. They spoil them instead.

that's how I trained my cats! totally works.

That is hilarious... I love the bullseye!!!

We used to squirt our cat for getting on the counter and other naughty cat things...

Supposedly squirting cats when you catch them doing something bad is like the best way to get them to stop doing it. Good luck!

But I must say, that kitty is gorgeous!

hahaha that is so cute!!! We do that to my cats at home, always hysterical to watch their reactions. Good luck and happy "hunting" :)

i love it! i so did this to my cat when she wouldn't stop getting into things, it works! xoxox

What a good idea. I'm going to have to stop by the dollar store and pick up some water guns for my kitties. Knowing them, they'll probably try to lick the water and it comes streaming past them.

HAHAHAHA - I love it! And your kitty is SO CUTE!

Melissa said...

I dunno whom to feel sorry for.. You or the cat.

Ashley D said...

I've never had a cat, but I've heard from other people that this really works. Good Luck!

What a photogenic kitty!

I know very little about training cats, but that does sound like a good strategy.

I wish! My cats take one look at the spray bottle and go yaaay, bath time!! Which is the same excitement I get from them when it's feeding time.

Noelle said...

I have heard that works. I keep meaning to try it myself. The vet told me that the cat thinks of the water as "the voice of God," and she respects that more than her caretaker. Keep us posted on the efficacy!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That is the best! I love the target bullseye. Oh your poor kitty, so cute.

Hahaha! I do this with spray bottles. My cats don't even care anymore they're so used to it.

Your cat is beautiful!

THIS IS MY FAVORITE POST OF YOURS EVER!!

i have a spray bottle for tycho - it usually takes him about 4 sprays to get it though, then he just does it again the next day.

Awww, this kitty I am fostering is going to be a momma soon and I hope one of them looks just like yours!!

My husband just makes a squirt sound with his mouth and our cat hunkers down and squints. Poor thing. But she is a hussy.

Too funny. We have two spray bottles in our house for disciplining the cats. Sometimes I get so mad they are soaking! Okay not THAT bad but close. Clearly I should not have kids anytime soon.

nicole antoinette said...

Ah, hahaha! I love this. Can I buy a kitty like that at Target? So cuttteee.

Anonymous said...

hahaha awesome! tell us if this actually works!

Something about mistreating cats always makes me laugh. Every time. And I like cats!

I wish my dogs would respond to be squirted with water!

I don't know what's gotten into them lately but they've peed and pooped in the house a few times these last 2 weeks AND chewed a hole through my comforter! Let me know how your "training" goes! :-)
