No Foolin' Round Here

I prematurely fooled some of you already, so I decided there would be no April Foolin' my readers today.

Well, maybe I couldn't think of anything really funny. Because the "I'm pregnant" joke just doesn't work as well on you guys as it does on the boyfriend.

Or does it?

Not falling for it? Damn.

Google's April Fools joke in Gmail today was pretty funny. They claimed to be "Introducing Gmail Custom Time":

How do I use it?
Just click "Set custom time" from the Compose view. Any email you send to the past appears in the proper chronological order in your recipient's inbox. You can opt for it to show up read or unread by selecting the appropriate option.

Is there a limit to how far back I can send email?
Yes. You'll only be able to send email back until April 1, 2004, the day we launched Gmail. If we were to let you send an email from Gmail before Gmail existed, well, that would be like hanging out with your parents before you were born -- crazy talk.

How does it work?
Gmail utilizes an e-flux capacitor to resolve issues of causality (see Grandfather Paradox).

How come I only get ten?
Our researchers have concluded that allowing each person more than ten pre-dated emails per year would cause people to lose faith in the accuracy of time, thus rendering the feature useless.

Their findings:
N = Total emails sent
P = Probability that user believes the time stamp
φ = The Golden Ratio
L = Average life expectancy

Funny, no?

What is the craziest April Fool's joke you've heard about or pulled yourself? Or fallen FOR?

Oh and I am pregnant.

April Fools ;)

oh and i forgot, the reason i came to comment was i response to Mr Perfect. the back is even funnier...it says that Mr Perfect can expand to 72" in water, shrinks when he gets out of water, and can be grown over and over again! ahhaha

I still have a picture of the pregnancy test I took when I was pregnant with Claire. I'd be happy to send you a copy...if you ever need it. ;)

Wait, I didn't get that at all. Google hates my Gmail account, apparently.

I used to be much better at April Fools jokes, but now I usually forget the holiday.

Yeah, I didn't get that message either... I don't think. I guess gmail knows how cynical I am. Hm, oh well.

I used to manage a museum and the director of HR and I pulled a prank on the staff last year. We pretended she was locked in the front office and had the starting banks in the office with her, so I asked all of the staff when they checked in in the morning for a "donation" so we could open and have change for visitors! It was great!

I TOTALLY didn't see the flux capacitor (from back to the future)
I of all people should have caught that!!!

One of the many, many reasons why I love the people at Google so very much :)

Google has such a good sense of humor! Remember last year, they offered to print everyone's emails and SEND them to them via regular mail?

april fools is my boyfriend's favorite holiday. knowing how gullible and emotional i am, i just about begged him not to fool me. so hopefully he won't "break up" with me on our date tonight (or take me to kfc for our date) - i just can't take it, i am about to get my period and the tears fall without warning!

I totally fell for this! I even went around to coworkers and blabbed, "Oh my gosh did you hear Google can now manage time in addition to everything else in our lives?!"

I'm such a sucker!

I spent a while coming up with an April Fool's joke, but the sense of humor quotient around this office is low. If I were to Saran Wrap the toilets, it's only because I'm mad at someone.

I've kept a record of the pranks I've pulled today on my blog. Let's just say the, "I got fired from my job for punching a second grader in the mouth because he called me a fag." was the best. I teach elementary school so...peace

I told my exbfs parents that I was knocked up a couple years back. That went over REALLY well.

And i LOVED gmail's prank. When i saw it at first I was like WTF.

Haha! I have been thinking all day of calling my parents tonight and telling them that I'm pregnant, but I think that they would have a heart attack, and I think that G would be upset with me if I did it too. Maybe one day...

The FUNNIEST April fools joke my mom and I played on my dad was about our pet rabbitt. (He hated those damn things) but we went to the vet to get his nails clipped and came back and made up this random disease he had that was going to cost 1500 a dollars a month, AND the symptoms would consist of him randomly peeing and jumping. My dad had steam coming off his ears. He was so pissed. But that was teh BEST! He seriously thought we were on a payment plan to cure the rabbitt of this fake disease :D Hee hee!

The use of the words "flux capacitor" make everything believable.

I actually tricked my sister into believing I was pregnant today. Then she called me crying as my Principal was walking by and I had to whisper "April Fool's!" and hang up.

Am worst sister ever.

the sad part about the Google joke was that I didnt realize it was a joke. I didn't click the link or anything but it definitely didn't phase me! Ha!
