My Idea Of A Perfect Date Night

Dinner at Max & Erma's restaurant. Indulging in our favorites: tortilla soup, soft pretzels and watermelon lemonade.

A round of mini-golf at Magic Mountain. A hot pink golf ball. Avoiding the "hazards" of fallen leaves and slanting greens.

Hunting moose, killing zombies, knocking out opponents in the ring, and jet skiing. And playing the kiddie games because they're only one token.

Watching Supernanny in bed, listening to suggestions on how they could "sex up" the show. Nothing that a little cleavage couldn't fix.

Falling asleep next to the person you love knowing there isn't any place you'd rather be.

Oh and let's not forget the most important part of the evening - WINNING at putt-putt:

;)

What's YOUR idea of a perfect date night?

hahah!! FIRST COMMENT ON MICHELLE AND THE CITY, WOO! i never get first.

i love super nanny. sometimes i think jo's breasts are sexy enough for the show lol ;)

my perfect date night is similar. probably involves a dinner at outback, and then a lovely walk out by the water, maybe a bonfire? Then a snuggly chic-flick movie at home under the covers :)

I wish we could double date. Because that sounds awesome. And I really miss Max & Ermas...

Hmmm, tough one. I'd have to gith a bottle of wine and a cooked meal at home with a good DVD. And a cute boy ;)

Um, i LOVE mini-golf. I keep challenging D to it, but I truly believe he's scared and has never taken me up on the offer. It's on this summer though, believe that! Great date night :)

Cooking my Love's favorite dish (one I created) a bottle of wine and watching a horror movie.

Ummm. Perfect weather, sunny and breezy and not too hot or humid. Lying outside in the grass near the river. Eating a yummy dinner in a riverside restaurant. A ride on a Ferris Wheel.

My perfect night would be going to a baseball game and having some beers and fun conversation.

I'm kind of boring though lol

My perfect date night definitely includes dinner out at a cozy restaurant with a bottle of wine. Then a slow walk home, hand in hand, and snuggling under the quilt on the couch until we fall asleep.

Perfect date ever. Man, I could really go for some tortilla soup, soft pretzels, zombie killing and putt-putt right about now.

drinks in an irish pub on the hill, followed by a cab ride over to the waterfront with a couple drinks outside on the docks at Sequoia, followed by sharing a hookah at some dingy hookah bar in georgetown followed by brunch the next morning.

oh wait...that was boyfriend and i's first date :)

watermelon lemonade?! omg that sounds fantastic!

also - perfect date night?

One word: Brian.

..

I am such a damn sucker.

Very nice! There's nothing I enjoy more than schooling a guy in the world of putt-putt. Unfortunately, my last three putt-putt adventures have been with a GOLFER. However, I do not go down without a fight!

Ideal date: Cardinals game complete with hot dog and trip to Ted Drewes afterwards. Hand holding, teasing and debates about the line up are necessary. If I'm not in St. Louis, replace Cardinals game with "any sporting even that is not the NBA on the couch" and keep the rest. You can sub Ted Drewes for mint chocolate chip ice cream!

i'm sorry, i can't come up with m perfect date night because i'm too busy drooooling over the thought of tortilla soup from max & ermas.

mmmmmmm.

xoxo,b

I'm not gonna lie--that's a pretty sweet date night! Mini-golf? Video games? Classic! I might exchange mini-golf for bowling though. I do adore bowling.

We almost had the perfect date last night...
Dinner with friends, then the Red Sox game. To bad they lost 7-2!

You thought up a way to sex up the Supernanny? Really, you should post!

Mine would be- a walk to the park in perfect warm, breezy weather with a picnic, a bottle of wine, no rushing, with a jazz ensemble playing lazily in the sun and dogs running around on the grass.

Can you tell I am desperate for some spring weather?

The best date night ever usually involves Battlestar Galactica, but I only bring that up because the new episode is only one day away, and I seem to only be able to concentrate on the immediate future.

I went out on a lake in a rowboat with my bf once on a camping trip. That was a good date.

Perfect date night for me starts in the late afternoon (cuz, when you get old, you tend to go to sleep earlier). We'd take the pup for a long walk, soaking up the late afternoon sun. After dropping her off, we'd head to one of our favorite local eateries for some dinner. Then it's off to the theater to see a play or hear some live music. We'd round out the night with a long walk home, noting all the many reasons why we love this city so.

Magic Mountain!?
Wait. You live in Columbus?

I live in Dayton and always see that place on my way to my parents' in Akron.

Crazy!!

Anyway, my idea of a perfect, lazy date?!

Eating Ben and Jerrys out of the container while watching The Daily Show.

Life gets fancy when you're a married woman. ;-)

My idea of a weekend date?

Dinner at an Indian or Thai restaurant followed by hanging out at the bookstore. I LOVE the bookstore!!

i'm not normally a big chain restaurant girl. but there is something about that tortilla soup at max and erma's... FABULOUS

i wanna go on a date, i need to find me one of those perfect boys toys!

Unknown said...

apparently, I need to find myself and max&erma's and get some of their tortilla soup! never heard of the place--must be an east-ish coast thing?

my perfect date: a nice dinner with wine and lots of good conversation and laughs. A walk around a lake or on a pretty trail. sitting in the hot tub with a few more drinks laughing our asses off at one thing or another. heading inside and going straight to the shower--together. Getting out and going straight to the bedroom for a sack session before falling into a deep sleep in his arms. Then waking up an hour later and each of us rolling to our respective sides of the bed. Nobody can touch me when I sleep!

That sounds pretty fun!

Here's mine:

An italian dinner complete with wine and dessert. A moonlit stroll hand in hand. Trying something new together. Then, snuggling in bed. Plus... ;) hehe.

you RAWK for winning at putt-putt.

and i'm happy to hear you sounding happy. =)

also, watermelon lemonade?! i must investigate this wondrous sounding concoction...

Well, I haven't been on a date in a very long time, and the fact that you've had such a great one discourages me, since I just stopped by to propose. You see, last night I made your garlic cheddar chicken, and now I'm here to convince you to marry me. Let's not let the fact that I'm already married, probably too old for you and also a female stop us.

I've got a lot of perfect dates but I have to say- that one would be up there. Mini Golf in particular because it's really the most hilarious of social sporting.

Another one would be making dinner together with the windows open and two bottles of wine. Watch a movie we've already seen so it's totally fine if things start to get distracting 3/4 of the way through :)

What a fabulous night! My idea of a great date night is to have a nice dinner out, great wine, come home and watch a movie with the dogs snuggling.

That is a great date night! Our anniv is coming up and we have a GREAT date planned!

That sounds amazing...Maybe G and I will have a fun night like that tonight. It's his birthday, and I'd like to do something fun, but he can't decide what he wants to do. He's SO crazy!

Passionista said...

My perfect date is a night in with a good movie, good food, and warm massage oil :)

Katelin said...

Sounds like a fabulous date, I love putt putt!

I think my perfect date would be grabbing dinner and eating outside, a moseying over to a bar with some live music, maybe some dancing. Then ending the nigh lying in bed and watching a movie we've both seen before.

Ashley said...

Sounds like an excellent evening!

The best date would be dinner on the beach with a walk along the water as the sunset. And afterwards having a bonfire on said beach with some good wine and a large blanket to snuggle up in.

This is of course completely hypothetical because I don't live near the beach. And don't have a boy to do this with. Haha

That sounds like an awesome date! A perfect date for me would be a nice summer day, picnic in the park with music, wine, good conversation. Then some frisbee, and always an ICE-CREAM finish!

Chelsea Talks Smack said...

Great date! I think ym perfect day would be a day in bed with the person I love, without looking at the clock. Ordering in, cooking breakfast together and watching movies, laughing, napping, cuddling....and ya know. ALL THAT GOOD STUFF :)

Starlet aka Minutestar said...

first timer in your blog - i love it!!

my perfect date would be a late breakfast in a cute local breakfast place (the date would have started from the previous nite i guess ;])
with our sleepee eyes and lazy asses...

First time commenter, love the post!!!

Perfect first date...sushi, walking in the park, wine on a deck, swinging on swings, conversation that flows effortlessly, and laughter punctuating the evening....

Silverstar said...

My perfect date? Hmm..Maybe going to a cottage, swimming in a lake and visiting quaint towns.:)

Le Petit Chic said...

That dinner is filled with many of my favorites! Although I've never tried lemonade with watermelon...sounds delicious!

Ashley said...

Thanks for making me want summer BADLY! I want to play putt-putt right now!

My perfect day would be something similar, I am more of a day person than a night person.

So one scenario could be,
early STL Cards game, with a stop to Ted Drewes after. (That is a famous STL ice cream place)

Or, a walk or biking through the park then sitting near the lake having a good chat...anything simple.

A day at the winery wouldn't be bad either or a day on the lake playing on the wave runners.

Ohh...I want summer! ;)

P.S. I just saw your reading Marley & Me...let me know what you think.

Hands down, my favorite book!

You had me at tortilla soup, soft pretzels, and watermelon lemonade. Seriously, that sounds like the perfect dinner.
