Do You Eat Like A Fifth Grader?

I do. And the girls at work make fun of me for it. But you know what? I think I'll make some kick-ass lunches for my kids when I'm a mom :)

A typical lunch:
Peanut butter & jelly (or fluff) sandwich
Yogurt (low fat!)
A Little Debbie's product (brownie or ho-ho usually)
Lunch-size bag of chips
Water
Candy for a late snack (optional)

What do you do that keeps you a kid at heart?

yeah, i'm with ya on this one.

I lurve just pepperoni on a pizza and get accused of being a 5 year old.

My vegemite sandwiches minus any butter or margarine are also a giveaway.

Dry biscuits are also another fav that others just don't seem to get.

We need a Facebook group or something. Or at least on 20SB :-)

btw - i have no idea with a ho-ho is, and have never eaten a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, though I assume that sandwich to you guys is like a vegemite sandwich to us - it's a staple part of every diet!!

Also, what's a fluff sandwich? Cause fluff to me, means either a mysterious piece of lint you find in your belly button or flatulence!?

Nerds
Sour Patch Kids
York Peppermint Patties
Gummi Bears
Fireballs

I need to eat like a man though. I get REALLY hungry :-)

To snack, nothing beats Oreo cookies!

I definitely bring my lunch in one of those insulated lunch bags. When I finally retired my old one, I had to choose between My Little Pony and a plain pink one (no joke, Target was waaaay behind in stocking apparently), so I went with the less little kiddish of the two. However, my co-workers tease me mercilessly!

Okay, first of all, I think I want to work with mrstwink! I'm jealous of what her desk holds.

As for me, I'm a huge sucker for chocolate. I have a little bit of it on most days.

But the thing that keeps me a kid at heart? Remember when you were like 13 or 14 and you used to dance around your room with the music up loud, singing into your hairbrush?

Yeah, I still do that!

I love peanut butter and jelly!! There's a restaurant here in NYC called Peanut Butter & Co that serves all sorts of awesome pb&j sandwiches (you choose the type of bread, smooth or crunchy, the kind of jelly, or even fluff or nutella etc), and each one comes with like chips and carrot sticks. It's amazing.

Your lunch is so cute, mine are very boring compared to that. I think the closest I get is some days I'll grab a cup of mac&cheese and a small bag of chips.

I've become a little more grown up in my taste in food, but I don't cook! I don't really know how and I feel like I'm useless in the kitchen. So most of my meals are made in the microwave or on the stove top, as in, pasta.

I chew gum. Non-stop.

I'm guilty of bringing lunchables to work for lunch! I never live that down.

Ha, that looks like it could be my lunch! Except I buy the Trix yogurt and bring juice boxes because they are the perfect size for me :)
I think my love for Spaghetti-O's really keeps me a kid at heart.

I laugh every time I hear someone say "69"--seriously. I'm going to be 26 in a week.

Sometimes I rock the lunchables. THe old school ones before they got all fancy!

Whats fluff? I may be missing out on something...

I dont need to pack dessert... we have a 'candy room' at work. 'Candy room' = partner keeps a file drawer in her office FULL of all kinds of candy for us to eat.

Wonderfulness.

My friends and I still find the "pen15" club absolutely HILARIOUS. And I eat a PB&J almost every day...I love them so much. We should get together for sandwiches sometime! Also, those crackers where you spread the cheese on with the little red stick. Those are so good!

I would TOTALLY eat like a fifth-grader at lunch... if I also didn't have the sense of responsibility a fifth grader has and am too damn lazy to pack a lunch like that.

the ex - fluff is the BEST stuff on earth. Fluffernutter. Go buy some. Yum!

Michelle--I used to pack fun lunches like you and then I stopped a few years ago. Not sure why. Perhaps in '08 I can start up again.

I always have a pudding cup with my lunch and a granola bar as an afternoon snack. By "always" I mean "every day at work since I started Weight Watchers." It resurrects my grade school days, and it keeps me feeling full without consuming tons of calories. What more can you want?

Whenever I make Hamburger Helper or Pasta Roni for dinner, I always have leftovers and I bring them for lunch the next day at work. My co-workers make fun of me whenever I do. I have no idea why.

Your lunches look amazing. I love Fluff, hehe.

What on EARTH is a HoHo? Sounds very cheeky!

You're adorable! I bring all sorts of things in little ziploc bags but I find that if I don't BRING any treats, that means I can't eat any for a whole 8 hours! Which is honestly record setting. Seriously try it, but you have to have plenty of things to eat like carrots or red peppers to take your mind off your missing treats.

PB&J. Coloring (okay, I love coloring I just don't do it nearly enough). Sour Patch Kids (my mom buys them for me). Fruitabu (it's a healthier sort of fruit snack and I like to eat it like I did in the cafeteria).

Animal crackers and apple juice is probably my favorite snack ever. Apparently, I am in preschool.
