I Heart Rascal Flatts

This weekend I went to see Rascal Flatts in concert at the Ohio State Fair. OH. MY. GOD. It was the best concert I have ever been to. You know the kind. Live music making goosebumps appear on your skin, closing your eyes and just taking it all in. Great light show, music videos, the works. We had floor seats too so the vantage point made it an even better experience.

On the way there (of course jamming out to their newest CD) I posed the question - "What song are you dying to hear?" Take Me There was the popular answer, but kind of a given knowing that it's off their upcoming album. My votes were Me & My Gang and Backwards. Skin if we're lucky but that's an old one. They come on stage singing Me & My Gang first and I was pumped.

Now as some of you know, I've never been very religious. But hearing "He Aint the Leavin' Kind" sung live was one of the coolest experiences ever. It gave me chills and for those few minutes I had faith, a sense of something bigger than us. It was just... awesome.

What a fabulous show!

  • Bless the Broken Road
  • Me & My Gang
  • Mayberry
  • My Wish (A girl from MTV's Sweet Sixteen show was at the concert and was up on stage for this song -dressed like she just slid off the pole. She had a whole camera crew in the pit taping her and all her friends, lucky bitch.)
  • Stand
  • Prayin for Daylight
  • Take Me There
  • He Aint the Leavin Kind
  • Backwards - YEAH!
  • You
  • Fast Cars and Freedom
  • Life is a Highway
To the country music fans out there, if you haven't seen Rascal Flatts in concert - YOU NEED TO.

Here are some photos of the experience. I'll probably post all of them on Flickr if you want to check them out. Oh and I tried fried pickles for the first time (thanks Kelly) and they are surprisingly tasty.

"I miss Mayberry. Sittin' on the porch drinkin' ice cold cherry.... COKE." - haven't been able to get this lyric out of my head since.

I totally understand! I saw them last year at the KY state fair and I'm going to see them again this year, in fact, on Thursday. Front row! I heart RF too!

Haha awesome! I love them because the first time I heard about them was from the llama song dance-along on The Emperor's New Groove dvd.

I'm know I'm late with this but, Bless the Broken road was our first dance song at our wedding, so I'm especially partial.
