Toss-up between "Getting Closer" and "This Night." It's awesome that you are going! (Even if I am SOOOOO jealous.)
My favorite, by far is "scenes from an italian restaurant" I love it. I've seen play live and he is total kick ass. You are going to have a blast.

I'm seeing him too! BUT Billy Joel is on my shit list at the moment. Shea Stadium, home of my beloved Mets, is done after this year and I got tickets to the very last concert there with Mr. Joel. Than the shitkicker decided to add another date after we bought them. So the very expensive tickets aren't even for the very last concert. Sad face.

Billy Joel rocks my socks...my sister (who is an insane live music enthusiast)...argues his Detroit show on tour with Elton John was the best concert she has ever been to in her life!
Favourite songs though... Goodnight my Angel (it's a song my grandfather and I share - makes me cry every time I hear it), New York State of Mind (cause I love the man when he gets all bluesy) and We Didn't Start the Fire (cause politics is my baby).

When I was in High School, my choir director saw the tour he did with Elton John, and they had choreographed all of their hand movements on the pianos and had them up on the video screens and it was apparently the coolest thing ever.

I went to my first Billy Joel concert when I was 8 or 9. My parents brought me. I saw Christy Brinkley join him on stage. It was my first time I saw men dressed in drag and also the first time I smelled pot. I went to see him again when I was in high school. Great musician!
I always had a hankering for Piano Man.

I love so many Billy Joel songs! Piano Man was the first adult song that I learned all of the words to, so that one has a special place in my heart. Uptown Girl is also a long time favorite. Honestly, I'd be harder pressed to think of a Billy Joel song I didn't like. And I'm so glad to see that there are so many fans under the age of 30! I makes me feel so much less lame...

And, may I say...I am completely jealous that you get to go see him! The closest I've gotten to a Billy Joel concert is that clip of Family Guy where they talk about the invention of singing (cavemen singing "For the Longest Time," if you haven't seen it-- truly brilliant).

As for my interesting fact about Billy- one of my mom's friends grew up with him. Billy was friends with her older brother and would kick it at their house afterschool and play the piano. Later, my mom's friend (Maggie) moved to Canada and when Billy came to Calgary to play she got to hang out with him. Now he gives her free tickets whenever he's in town. Apparently, he's still the same guy that he was when he was young.
Isn't that nice to know that some people don't change with fame??
(Also, in case the above part was too happy- Maggie always shared such good stories on how Christie Brinkley was a snob.)
