I'm In Ur Minds, Reading Ur Thotz

OK Libby - What would my superpower be, you ask?

Reading minds. Hands down.

However, I would want the ability to turn it on and off unlike in the movie What Women Want. I think Mel Gibson's brain imploded a few times. I don't know if I would use the superpower that often as it could be seen as an invasion of privacy. Details, details.

But think about it... reading minds would be ideal in the dating world. Guys wouldn't have to wonder if they'd get rejected by a cute girl they see at the bar. Chances are if she's not thinking about you, you have no chance (or she's into another guy on the other side of the room). Girls would never have to find out "He's Just Not That Into You". That book would never have made it to bestseller status. Hell it might have never been written! We would already know. Basically having this superpower would weed through all the bullshit in relationships.

"Where do you see our relationship going? Do you think we have a future together?"
--What you hear: "Yeah babe. Of course."
--What he's really thinking: "What can I say that will not cause a fight? I'm not even sure I want to marry this girl. Shit I hate talking about my feelings. Think of a stall...think of a stall."

What time we could save.

Oh and how great would that superpower have been in high school and college? Talk about a 4.0! ;)

Whose mind would you read if you could?

If you haven't already (or thought of more questions to ask since yesterday) please comment on my last post and add your questions to the list. I have to get through 60 days here people.... SIXTY! ;)

yours, of course. I'd read yours, and since you can read everyone else's mind, I'd be set. I'd be like the super villain to your superhero.

I agree completely with Molly that I would use it mostly when negotiating with people to see exactly how far I could push it. I would definitely want to be able to turn that ability off because it would be sad if people didn't need to actually communicate anymore. Think how much less fun flirting would be if everything were just... out there, right from the beginning. But sometimes it would be damn useful.

That power scares me, since I'm always oh-so-scared people dislike me. Though I would be the best psychologist the world- no more imposter syndrome for me!!

I would choose... ugh. Too early. Right now, I would choose to be able to get by on an hour sleep a night-- but to be able to change that some weekends for extra good dreams.

I'm with Molly - wedding vendors! Yes!

And also, my assistants. Just 'cause.

I've actually always wanted Super Hearing. Because I'm masochistic and want to know what people are saying about me behind my back :)

Honestly, I don't know if I'd want to read anyone's mind, except maybe my dog. That's just too dangerous. Humans (well, most of us) use tact for a reason. It's a filter our thoughts go through so we can maintain relationships and some sense of sanity. I think in some instances it would be great, but if you couldn't turn it off and on, things could get bad really quickly.

Nice!
Definitely any guy that I like. With friends... I don't know I don't want to say its a TRUST thing? But it's like... with guys they have different reasons for net telling things. Sort of? Yeah? Am I making any sense?

I'm not sure if I'd ever want to read people's minds. I guess it would be helpful in work related negotiation situations but in general, I don't think I'd want to know. I certainly wouldn't want everyone to know what I was thinking...

Yeah I'm with Samantha! I'd rather stay oblivious and make up in my own mind what they're thinking! :-) Somethings are better left unknown. AND think how unexciting it would be when that guy tells you how awesome or amazing you are...I mean you'd already know if you could read his mind!

I would LOVE to be able to do that! Oh SO many possibilities! Probably none of them are legal though.

Whose mind would I read? Probably my own. None of it seems to make sense most of the time. I'd love to know what I was really thinking!

ok guys - i'm hearing you. it would take the fun out of things sometimes which is why it would be a "selective" superpower. because who wants to spoil surprises - especially like .... when my future hubby pops the question!? ;)

Sometimes I think it's safer to JUST NOT KNOW what people really think, haha!! One of my shows recently had a storyline about this, and the girl who could read people's minds nearly had a breakdown bc she could hear all of the critical/mean things her friends would think but never say.

However, if I could read someone's minds, I'd love to know what my dogs are thinking! Somethimes they just look so serious or confused and I'm dying to know what's going through their little pea brains ;)

Hmmm...Super Power? I guess mine would be to read minds. If I could read minds, I would read the interviewer's minds and find out why they never want to hire me. And finally get an answer after all!

OROROR! I would be able to transport myself and others. You know..on Charmed. That way I could go to where ever I wanted! AT NO COST! How cool..

Clients! So it'll be easier to pitch. :D But I'd really rather be able to move things with my mind. And fly. Hehe.

Oh, reading minds would be awesome! But I can only imagine the craziness that would ensue.

I'd love to be able to read Brittany Spears' mind. Seriously.

I would read the mind of everyone I know. EVERYONE. To see what they really think about me. Definitely would have saved a lot of time in my clusterfuck of a last relationship.

I'm not so sure I'd like to read people's mind. Because if I could I know the person I'd put it to use with, and can guess I'd be broken hearted. People are brutal enough, if I could read minds, it'd just hurt more....

Obviously, my boyfriend's because. Although, I don't know how much that would help. I honestly think that he doesn't know which end is up most of the time.

Also, the admissions committees at the grad schools I'm applying to. Tell me if I'm going to get in, damn it!

ok reading minds is DEFINITELY and uber cool power. i would read guys' minds that i like as well.

also, you know how girls sometimes stare at other girls? yeah i'd want to know why exactly they're staring at me and what they're thinking.

i'd like to read my brother's mind to find out if he's telling me the truth about having a gf or not.

ask me what's my 'first' for superpowers - even HEROES hasn't come up with this one yet!
